Long Island Man Stabs Boyfriend's Landlord During Dispute, Police Say

Police arrested a suspect for allegedly stabbing his boyfriend's landlord at a residence on Long Island.

The incident took place in Bay Shore around 1 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 10 during a dispute between the landlord and his tenants’ boyfriend, Anthony Cook, age 35, said the Suffolk County Police.

Cook stabbed the man with a kitchen knife inside the living room, located on Udall Road.

Police responded and transported the 70-year-old victim to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Cook, of Bay Shore, initially hid from police but was found a short time later hiding in a closet. 

He was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for evaluation.

Third Squad detectives charged Cook with assault. 

He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court on Wednesday, Aug. 11.
